Weight Loss Secrets

by: Healthy Living Supplements LLC

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report that more than half, actually the latest statistics show an incredible 65.2%, of the adults in the United States are either overweight or obese.   As we all know, weight loss is difficult.  It can be made easier with a good diet pill like The Ultimate Diet Formula ™ but it takes time and commitment to be successful.  Most people who are successful start by deciding that they will do whatever it takes to lose weight by using the best dietary supplements available and by changing the quantity and quality of food that they eat.  We believe that the following key weight loss secrets will assist you in meeting your weight loss objectives.

Know Your BMI.  BMI stands for Body Mass Index.  It is a good way to know what your healthy weight should be.  BMI defines the relationship between your body fat and lean body mass, given both your weight and height.  An adult who has a BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight.  A BMI of 30 or greater is considered obese.  Your BMI is calculated by taking your weight in pounds times 703 and dividing that by your height in inches, squared.  So if you weigh 150 and are 5’ tall your BMI is an overweight 29.3 [(150 x 703) / (5 x 12 x 60 or 3,600)].  To be considered having a healthy weight BMI of 24.9 you would need to reduce you weight to 127.5 pounds [24.9 / (703 / 3,600)].

Know Your Weight.  You should weight yourself regularly on the same scales, preferably at the same time of day and the same day each week.  Make up a table with the rows being dates and the columns being at least weight in pounds and waist measurement in inches.  You might also want to add hips and chest measurements in inches.  This will give you meaningful feedback on how well your weight loss program is working.  And don’t be discouraged if your weight and/or certain measurements don’t decrease every week.

Eat In Moderation And In Smaller Portions.  Smaller portion sizes than you used to eat will remind you that calories do count.  If you are using The Ultimate Diet Formula ™ weight loss diet pill before major meals, it will be easy to cut your portion size and stop eating when you are satisfied.  Little by little your stomach will get used to small portions and less food.  You will feel full sooner.  If you eat out, take at least half of your meal home.  Remember that moderation is the key and that you cannot lose weight unless you consume fewer calories than you burn.

Drink Lots Of Pure Clean Water And Avoid Soft Drinks.  When we say lots, we mean lots.  Ten eight-ounce glasses each day is ideal.  Putting a little fresh squeezed lemon juice into your water also makes it taste more appealing and actually facilitates weight loss.  Soft drinks don’t count as water and they are not good for you.  Even diet soft drinks with zero calories should be avoided because they increase your craving for sweets.

Consume Fewer ‘Net’ Calories.  If you really want to lose weight, calories do count.  But what really counts is understanding the connection between the energy your body takes in (through the foods you eat and the beverages you drink) and the energy your body uses (through the activities you do).  The following graphic illustrates this concept:

If your ‘Net” is negative i.e., your intake is less than your output then you will lose weight.  It takes about 500 calories less each day in order to lose one pound in one week.  Since most people don’t have the time and/or inclination to do a lot of strenuous exercising, we’ve included the table below from the CDC to give you a sense of how important it is to reduce your daily caloric intake.

Set Realistic Weight Loss Goals.  If you set your goal at 1 to 2 lbs per week, you will probably exceed it in the beginning, which will give you the needed encouragement to keep going, especially in the early days.  Slow and steady is the way to go.

Eat More Fruits And Vegetables.  They will give you the nutrients you need and will fill you up faster and longer.  Replace the refined sugars, starches and fried foods with fruits and vegetables.

Be Happy And Reduce Stress.  Try to laugh and smile a lot.  Stress will make you want to eat.  Always find a bright side to any bad situation.  This will keep you away from the blues and also from hitting the fridge.  When you start to feel stressed go for a walk.  It will take your mind off the stress.  The extra physical activity will also burn more calories.

Get Lots Of Sleep.  Sleep is good for you.  Without enough you will be more prone to get easily stressed and eat more.  Believe it or not, sleep is one of the body’s natural mechanisms for burning fat and calories.  Failing to get the proper amount of sleep will reduce your body’s ability to burn fat and will slow down your weight loss.
